Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 25, 2026
SUMMARY: Your privacy is critical. Dateverse is a decentralized blockchain protocol interface. While we do not gather personal data on-chain, our website uses cookies for analytics optimization (such as Google Analytics and PostHog) and offers contact tools. This Privacy Policy details how we handle information you provide and data collected automatically.

1. Introduction

The developers and maintainers of Dateverse ("we," "us," or "our") are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect when you access and use the website located at dateverse.io (the "Site"), how we use that data, and the options available to you regarding your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information directly provided by you, data gathered automatically through cookies, and public data available on the blockchain.

A. Information You Directy Provide

  • Contact Inquiries: When you submit messages via our Contact Form, we collect your Name/Alias, Email Address, your Browser Timezone, and an anti-abuse verification token generated by Cloudflare Turnstile. This information is used strictly to answer your protocol support questions, integration requests, or custom proposals and to reduce automated spam submissions.

B. Public Blockchain Data

  • Wallet Address & Transactions: When you connect your Web3 wallet (e.g. MetaMask) to the Explorer to claim or transfer dates, your public wallet address, transaction hash, and collectible ownership status are read from the blockchain ledger. Blockchain records are public, transparent, and permanent by design. We do not store your private keys.

C. Automatically Collected Data & Analytics

We use third-party analytics service providers—specifically Google Analytics and PostHog—to gather visitor activity data to optimize Site performance. Data collected automatically may include:

  • Device metadata (e.g. browser type, operating system, device class).
  • IP addresses (which may provide generalized location estimates like city or country).
  • Clickstream data (e.g. referral pages, search queries that led you to the Site, duration of visit, pages viewed).

3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. We use cookies and browser storage technologies to maintain UI preferences, gather performance metrics, and serve advertisements:

  • Google Analytics Cookies: Used to track website traffic patterns and generate anonymized aggregate statistics. For more information, visit the Google Privacy & Terms page.
  • Google Advertising Cookies: We and our third-party partners (including Google) use cookies to serve personalized advertisements to you based on your visits to our Site and other websites across the Internet. You can manage Google personalized ads or opt-out by visiting the Google Ads Settings page.
  • Third-Party Ads Opt-Out: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our Site. You may opt out of other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
  • PostHog Tracker: Used for event capture, product usage metrics, and feature flag resolution to help us refine the Explorer UI.
  • Local Browser Storage: We use local storage (LocalStorage and SessionStorage) to cache UI states (e.g., wallet connection state, toast notification states) to improve page rendering speeds and remember UI states across sessions. Local storage does not contain sensitive personal information.

You can manage or block cookies by adjusting your browser settings, or by using privacy-oriented browser extensions. Note that disabling cookies may affect certain interactive dashboard features.

4. How We Use Your Information

We process information for the following legitimate purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and optimize the Dateverse Explorer interface.
  • To respond directly to support tickets, proposals, or questions transmitted through our contact form.
  • To monitor Site traffic, debug interface crashes, and analyze user engagement patterns.
  • To protect the Site and users against malicious scripts, spam, or denial-of-service attacks.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information. We may share data under the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with hosting providers, anti-abuse verification providers (Cloudflare Turnstile), email transmission providers (such as Amazon Web Services SES), and analytics systems (Google, PostHog) under strict security constraints.
  • Public Ledgers: Any transaction you execute using connected wallets (claims, transfers) is broadcast publicly on the Ethereum/L2 network and indexed by explorers. This data is public and beyond our control.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by subpoena, court order, or search warrant, or to protect the safety of the protocol community.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical security measures (including TLS encryption, firewall protections, and input sanitization) to guard your personal data. However, no digital storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. You share information at your own risk.

7. Data Retention

  • Contact form submissions and correspondence are retained for the duration of the support inquiry lifecycle, up to a maximum of twelve (12) months.
  • Analytics logs stored in third-party services are subject to the retention policies of Google Analytics and PostHog.
  • Public blockchain records cannot be modified or deleted by us and persist permanently on the decentralized network.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: The right to request copies of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Erasure / Rectification: The right to request that we delete or correct any inaccurate personal data (such as contact messages).
  • Opt-Out of Tracking: The right to opt-out of cookie tracking and analytics cookies.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact the Custodian through our Contact Page. We will process verified requests within thirty (30) days.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our systems.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.

DATEVERSE MANIFESTO

Dateverse is a minimalistic decentralized digital collectible protocol built around scarce calendar dates. Each calendar date in the Genesis range exists as exactly one unique, transferable on-chain token.

The protocol intentionally focuses on absolute scarcity, temporal preservation, and simplicity. It is not a utility token, a social network, or a gamified platform—it is a canonical ledger of modern history.
