Plaque Customization Guide
As a Dateverse date owner, you possess full custody and creative control over your plaques. Learn how to customize themes and toggle historical milestones.
1. Plaque Visual Themes
Every calendar date has an interactive SVG plaque renderer built directly on-chain. Token owners can choose between 10 unique visual themes to customize the appearance of their collectible plaques.
Interactive Theme Previewer
Visualize and test how different on-chain themes and milestone texts render on the calendar date plaque.
How to Change Your Theme:
- Navigate to your token page in the Dateverse Explorer or open the contract write tab on block explorers like Blockscout or Etherscan.
- Connect your Web3 Wallet (metamask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.) that holds your date token.
- Call the
setThemefunction on the main Dateverse core contract:
*For example, to set Dateverse #20090103 to Cyberpunk Neon, you would send: setTheme(20090103, 6).
2. Curated Historical Milestones
Significant calendar dates within the Genesis sequence are anchored with curated landmark texts. These milestones are compiled in the DateverseAnchorRegistry.
Toggling Milestones on Your Plaque:
By default, historical milestones are turned off on your visual plaques. Only the token owner can decide to display the landmark milestone text.
- Connect your Web3 Wallet to the Dateverse Explorer or the registry contract dashboard.
- Call the
toggleAnchorfunction on theDateverseAnchorRegistrycontract:
*Parameters: tokenId is your date token ID, and show is true (enable milestone text) or false (hide milestone text).
3. Milestone Submissions & Custody
Milestones inside the registry are curated and validated by the registry custodian to ensure correctness and prevent vandalism or layout overflow.
Proposing Landmark Milestones:
If your date has a notable historical event (e.g. scientific breakthrough, birth of a historical protocol, geopolitical event) that isn't yet recorded:
- Submit a request/proposal through the Custodian Inquiry Form or reach out on X.
- Include the calendar date and a short description of the landmark event.
- Approved milestones will be updated in the registry contract by the custodian in batch transactions.
4. Layer 2 Gas Fees
Dateverse is deployed on the Base Layer 2 network, which means executing customization changes costs almost nothing.
5. Smart Contract & Security
Decentralized collectibles rely on absolute cryptographic security. Here is how the Dateverse protocol secures your digital ownership and guarantees system transparency.
✓ Verified Contract Source
The full smart contract logic is verified on Basescan. You can inspect the exact code. Disclaimers shown by block explorers are standard legal warnings applied to all contracts—even those of major protocols.
✓ Immutable Supply & Rules
The total supply is permanently capped at 36,525 dates and standard pricing tiers are mathematically hardcoded. No one, including the creator, can mint duplicate dates, expand the range, or change price tiers.
✓ Zero Permission Risk
Minting is a standard transaction that transfers ownership directly to your wallet. Dateverse will never request token approvals, wallet signature authorizations, or rights to transfer assets out of your wallet.
✓ Non-Custodial Customization
Visual customization (setTheme and toggleAnchor) is purely optional, execution-gated, and fully owned by you. Customizing your plaques costs only a minor Layer 2 transaction fee (~$0.001).
